What Density Should I Get?
Yolova is focusing on helping you better understand
the basics of wigs and how to choose the
best one. After the wig length we talked about last
week, and now Let’s move to wig density.
WHAT IS DENSITY
Wig density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your wig will be. The standard and most popular choice is 150% which is natural/me dium density. The average human head is considered to be between 150%-200%
DENSITY CHART PERCENTAGES
150%: A standard density to make sure a look natural with a little added fullness. A full style with a lot of bounce, body and movement.
180%: If you desire a full and voluminous hair look. This one is for you to achieve a full style.
200%: This density is very heavy. It is usually ordered by ladies who want their hair to look extra glamorous more of a celebrity look (suit for hair lengths over 24inch).
WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE?
When it comes to the best density or length, there really isn’t one that is better than another. It comes down to the look you are trying to achieve. Here is only one thing to consider when you are looking for the suited wig density: Hair texture.
Typically, a long, straight style requires a higher density to appear full, whereas a curly unit can be less dense and still look full. You also want to consider if you plan to process or style the hair with heated tools as that may affect which density you choose.
